Working Group Nanomaterials and Microparticles

The working group consists of members from official monitoring, commercial laboratories, the food industry and research institutions.

Tasks and Objectives

The aim of the working group nanomaterials and microplastics is to exchange information and scientific viewpoints concerning the applications, occurrence and assessment of nanomaterials and microplastics in areas relating to consumers.

The areas of feed and food are considered in particular; other relevant areas may be included where technically necessary. The aim is to establish norms and standardise analytical methods to ensure the quality and accuracy of determinations in complex matrices and to assess products and exposures.

By preparing statements, the working group aims to actively influence legislative initiatives at federal and EU level and thereby create consistent scientific foundations for assessments.
