2022 Oldenburg
What we eat every day concerns us all. No one wants spoiled or adulterated food. Fortunately, there are inspection authorities that check what comes onto the market. During our 12th SEC Technology Tour to Oldenburg, we had the rare opportunity to visit one!
The Oldenburg Food and Veterinary Institute (LVI) opened its doors especially for us on 28 Sep. 2022. After an introductory presentation, in which food adulteration played a particularly important role, we learnt about various testing methods in groups of 10.
By 7 pm (or by 4 pm) Arrival in Oldenburg, overnight stay at Hotel Meiners
From 4 pm Oldenburg city tour (for earlier arrivals)
7 pm Group dinner at the Ratskeller
10 am–12:30 pm Visit to the LVI in Oldenburg
1–2 pm Group snack
2–3 pm Trip “into the countryside”: Bad Zwischenahn
3–4 pm Walk in the spa gardens of Bad Zwischenahn
4–4:40 pm Boat to Dreibergen
4:40–6 pm Coffee (or beer or…) at the Fährkroog
6:10–6:40 pm Boat back to Bad Zwischenahn
6:40–7 pm Return journey to Hatterwüsting
7–11 pm Group dinner at Meiners Restaurant and winding down
