SEC working group education becomes STEM ambassador

As part of the school partnership, the SEC working group education offers schools and other educational institutions generally understandable talks on topics from chemistry. For this activity, the working group was honoured as an MINT ambassador by the “MINT Zukunft schaffen” initiative on 4 Dec 2015 (MINT = mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). The certificates were presented by GDCh Executive Director Wolfram Koch and Elisabeth Kapatsina, GDCh Education Coordinator, at the GDCh Office in Frankfurt.

The “MINT Zukunft schaffen” initiative aims to foster a positive attitude towards STEM among young people, parents, teachers and the wider public. The intended strengthening of STEM abilities and skills affects all areas of education: early-years education, general education schools, vocational education, higher education and vocational training. MINT Zukunft is a registered, non-profit association based in Berlin.

STEM ambassadors help to inspire young people to take an interest in STEM. They can do this in a variety of ways; see STEM ambassadors on the web.
