You are already part of our community

If you are currently a GDCh member residing in the United States and are also an ACS member, you can benefit from the 30 per cent discount from your 2027 membership renewal onwards.

What you need to do: Simply update your membership profile by selecting ‘I am an ACS member residing in the USA’. Your discount will then be applied automatically at your next renewal.

FAQ for GDCh members in Germany

All current GDCh members resident in Germany are eligible, including associate members. The discount applies to all ACS membership categories.

You will receive a 30 per cent discount on the standard ACS membership fee – for your chosen membership category. Your GDCh membership fee remains unchanged.

Request your personal code via the GDCh members’ portal at www.gdch.app/acs.

Yes. You can use the discount code when you next renew your ACS membership.

Each code is valid for a new registration or renewal with the ACS. You must request a new code every year.

No. Please become a member of the GDCh first. Once your membership has been confirmed, you can then request your discount code.

No. Each code is personal and linked to your individual GDCh membership. Your colleagues can request their own codes using the same process.

The discount is available only to GDCh members resident in Germany. If you move house, please update your membership profile. Future discount codes may no longer be available, depending on your new country of residence.

The partnership will initially run for a period of three years, starting on 1 June 2026. Following a joint evaluation by both organisations, a decision will be made as to whether the programme will continue.

FAQ for ACS members in the USA

ACS members resident in the United States are entitled to a 30 per cent discount on GDCh membership in the following categories: Student/Trainee, Young Member, Full Member and Retired Member.

When applying for GDCh membership, please select ‘I am an ACS member resident in the USA’ on the application form. The 30 per cent discount will be applied automatically to your invoice.

If you are already a GDCh member, the discount will apply from your renewal in 2027. Simply update your membership profile to indicate that you are an ACS member resident in the USA.

No. Only one contribution-reducing option can be applied at any one time. The system always applies the option that results in the lowest contribution for you.

No. The discount does not apply to lifetime memberships.

No. This partnership has no impact on your ACS membership fee.

As a GDCh member, you will receive the members’ magazine “Nachrichten aus der Chemie”, access to GDCh events and conferences, the opportunity to join specialist Divisions in your field, and the chance to network with over 28,000 chemistry professionals in Germany and Europe.

Many of the GDCh’s scientific events feature presentations in English, and we offer English-language support for international members. The members’ magazine *Nachrichten aus der Chemie* is published in German.
