Walter Kölle Foundation

Walter Kölle Foundation

Dr. Walter Kölle (1936-2020) was Head of the Institute for Water Research at Stadtwerke Hannover until 1996. He was the author of around 100 specialist publications. In 1971, he became the first scientist to receive the newly established Division Award Society of Water Chemistry (currently: Division Award).

In December 2010, Dr. Walter Kölle established a foundation at the German Chemical Society (GDCh), whose purpose is fulfilled by promoting scientific work in the field of water chemistry and recognising outstanding work by young scientists in this field.

For example, the foundation supports the presentation of the Student Water Award, the PhD Award for Water Chemistry and the Division Award Society of Water Chemistry by funding the prize money.
