PhD Award of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry

Award statutes

§1 The Board of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry resolves to award a PhD Award of the Division. The number of awardees is limited to three per call for proposals.

§2 The award is presented for an outstanding dissertation in the field of nuclear chemistry. As a rule, the submitted work should have been completed and assessed during the period between the Division’s annual conferences (usually two years).

§3 University lecturers and members of the Division holding a doctorate are entitled to submit nominations. The Board and advisory board members of the Division form the jury. They decide by a simple majority. In the event of a tie, the chair of the Division shall decide.

§4 Applications must be submitted electronically to the GDCh office. The application must contain the following documents:

● Nomination letter from the nominator, including justification of the work’s merit
● Dissertation and one selected publication, with justification for the selection
● Doctoral certificate or provisional confirmation,
● CV with a list of publications / presentations / posters / scholarships & awards

§5 The award comprises a certificate of award setting out the recipient’s merits and prize money of €500.

§6 The awardee shall report on the awarded work in an invited lecture at the Division conference.

§7 Amendments to these statutes are only possible with a two-thirds majority of the Division Board.
