The German Catalysis Society (German Catalysis Society; GeCatS) is the central representative body for the German catalysis community and an information platform for catalysis research and application. GeCatS is supported by five scientific societies:

  • German Bunsen Society for physical chemistry (DBG),
  • DGMK – German Scientific Society for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Coal,
  • German Chemical Society (GDCh),
  • Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology e.V. (DECHEMA) and
  • VDI Society for Process and Chemical Engineering (VDI-GVC).

Under its umbrella, the activities of the supporting societies in the field of catalysis are brought together. Membership of GeCatS is open to every member of the five supporting societies at no additional cost. GeCatS is not a Division within the meaning of the GDCh statutes.
