Data protection provision for Google Groups
The EU GDPR, which enters into force on 25 May 2018, provides, among other things, in Article 13 that, when collecting personal data, the controller must inform the data subject of certain information.

8.) Transfer of data to a third country or an international organisation
If we process data in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) in connection with the use of third-party services or the disclosure or transfer of data to third parties, this only takes place if it is necessary to fulfil our (pre-)contractual obligations, on the basis of your consent, due to a legal obligation or on the basis of our legitimate interests.
In order to comply with the transparency and procedures governed by Art. 12 of the EU GDPR, the controller provides information below on the rights of data subjects.
a) Right of access (Art. 15)
The data subject has the right to obtain from the controller confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning them are being processed. The controller shall provide a copy of the personal data undergoing processing. For any further copies requested by the data subject, the controller may charge a reasonable fee based on administrative costs.
b) Rectification (Art. 16)
The data subject has the right to request the rectification or completion of personal data concerning them.
c) Erasure (Art. 17) – “right to be forgotten”

d) Right to object (Art. 21)
If the data subject objects to the processing of personal data concerning them, the controller may no longer process this data unless they can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
e) Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
f) Consequences of failure to provide personal data
Failure to provide personal data or objection to the processing of the data subject’s personal data will result in leaving the group.
