Funding programme: 65 years of the Division of Electrochemistry
The GDCh Division of Electrochemistry will celebrate its 65th anniversary in 2025. Get involved by holding an event in your local area and help raise the profile of electrochemistry and its importance for a viable and more sustainable society.
Financial support from the GDCh Division of Electrochemistry will assist you in organising your event.
For the organisation of a symposium, colloquium or lecture with at least one speaker from an external institution (not their own), a maximum of 1,000 euros per event will be reimbursed. Invoices for all expenditure must be submitted for reimbursement. A maximum of one event per month and institution will be supported.

All other costs are not reimbursable. Reimbursement is limited to the total amount applicable to the region. Any costs exceeding this amount must be covered as a personal contribution.
Q1: Can several events be held at the same institution? Can a member of the Division of Electrochemistry submit several applications for funding?
A1: Yes. However, more than one event per month and institution is not eligible for funding.
Q2: Speakers from institutions in Germany, Europe and Japan are taking part in the event. How is the grant calculated?
A2: A maximum of EUR 1,000 in total is granted per event. The maximum grant per speaker varies according to region.
Q3: Three speakers (University of Hamburg, TU Berlin, TUM) are taking part in the event. How is the grant calculated?
A3: The grant for speakers is based on region. In this case, a maximum of EUR 200 is available for speakers from an institution in Germany. In this case, a maximum of EUR 600 (3 × EUR 200) is granted.
Q4: How can suitable reference be made to the GDCh Division of Electrochemistry and its 65th anniversary?
A4: All forms of (scientific) communication are suitable for this purpose, from press releases to social media posts. A poster template and a PowerPoint slide will also be provided. The hashtags #GDCh and #GDChElectrochemistry should be used for announcements and subsequent reports.
Q5: How long does it take to decide whether my event will receive funding?
A5: Financial grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We aim to make a decision within four weeks.
Q6: By when must the grant be accounted for?
A6: The travel expense grant submission by the speakers must be made within 21 days of the event. Applications submitted 6 weeks after the event date cannot be considered (cut-off deadline). Here is the form

A7: The relevant GDCh travel expense form and the associated receipts/invoices must be uploaded to a cloud exclusively as one (1) PDF file.
