The Joint Division of Bioinformatics brings together the activities of the six scientific supporting societies in the field of computer science in the life sciences:

  • German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS)
  • German Chemical Society (GDCh),
  • Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM),
  • Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA),
  • German Informatics Society (GI) and
  • Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM).

Membership of the Joint Division of Bioinformatics is open to every member of the six supporting societies without any additional fee. FaBi is not a Division within the meaning of the GDCh statutes
