Privacy policy for Google Groups

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), which enters into force on 25 May 2018, stipulates, among other things, in Article 13 that the controller must provide the data subject with certain information when collecting personal data.

    If we process data in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) in connection with the use of third-party services or the disclosure or transfer of data to third parties, this will only take place if it is necessary to fulfil our (pre-)contractual obligations, is based on your consent, is required by a legal obligation or is based on our legitimate interests.

Rights of data subjects

In order to comply with the transparency and procedures stipulated in Article 12 of the EU GDPR, the controller provides the following information about the rights of data subjects. a) Right of access (Article 15) The data subject has the right to obtain confirmation from the controller as to whether personal data concerning them are being processed. The controller shall provide a copy of the personal data undergoing processing. For any further copies requested by the data subject, the controller may charge a reasonable fee based on administrative costs. b) Rectification (Article 16) The data subject has the right to request the rectification or completion of personal data concerning them. c) Erasure (Article 17) – “right to be forgotten” See point 7: Time limits for deletion of the data d) Right to object (Article 21) If the data subject objects to the processing of personal data concerning them, the controller may no longer process these data unless they can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. e) Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. f) Consequences of failure to provide personal data Failure to provide personal data or objecting to its processing will result in leaving the group.
