Centre of Excellence Women and Science (CEWS)

The Centre of Excellence Women and Science (CEWS) was opened at the University of Bonn in 2000. It sees itself as a knowledge- and research-based service institution that provides its services to female academics, higher education institutions, research institutions, scientific organisations and political bodies. CEWS works towards achieving equal opportunities for women and men in science and research in Germany. For this policy area, CEWS provides food for thought, initiates change processes that it supports scientifically, and actively helps shape the necessary transfer processes between science and politics.
