The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology provides extensive information, various brochures and a database in which you can research funding programmes for start-ups.
The funding database, also provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology, offers an overview of funding programmes run by the federal government, the federal states and the European Union. It also contains a great deal of information for start-ups.
Another programme from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology: EXIST aims to promote start-ups emerging from academia. Grants support founders from universities or non-university research institutions.
Through the GO-Bio competition, the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) supports research teams in the life sciences that are ready to start a business. Since its launch in 2005, many projects have been funded in several selection rounds. The website provides information on the current status of each selection round. Most of these projects focus on developing new medicines or services for pharmaceutical development, but also on medical technology or plant protection.
Science4Life e.V. is an independent founders’ initiative that provides advice and support to young companies in the life sciences and chemicals sectors throughout Germany. The initiative is actively supported by many companies and institutions and offers assistance with all questions relating to setting up a business.
Business seniors are former entrepreneurs, managers and experts from industry, trade, the skilled trades, services or the liberal professions. During their active retirement, they pass on their knowledge and experience. Among other things, the website contains a list of initiatives in the various regions of Germany.
Förderland is an independent, nationwide information portal for start-ups and medium-sized business owners. In addition to structured information, visitors receive numerous services, interesting links and contacts, as well as a wealth of practical experience.
The nationwide gründerinnenagentur (bga) is a Germany-wide information and service centre for women’s self-employment across all sectors and phases of starting, consolidating and succeeding a business. This service is provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology.
