My membership
Welcome to the service area for GDCh members. Here you will find everything you need to manage your membership – from updating your details and viewing your membership fee invoice to changing your membership status.
On this page you will find:
Keep your personal details up to date at all times – quickly and easily in the member portal.
If you would prefer to notify us of your change of address by post, fax or email, please use our change-of-details form.
Complete contact details (work and private address, telephone, fax, email) make it easier to reach you – for example, with fast and cost-effective information about activities of your local section. Your data will be used exclusively for internal purposes in accordance with our statutes and will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
Note: Assignment to your local section or JCF regional forum is automatic, based on the postcode of your delivery address.
Everything relating to your membership fee invoice, payment methods and frequently asked questions about payments can be found here.
When will I receive my membership fee invoice? You will generally receive your annual invoice at the beginning of the calendar year by post or email, depending on your recorded contact preference.
Which payment methods are available? You can pay your membership fee by SEPA direct debit, bank transfer or credit card/PayPal (both only for members outside Germany). The most convenient option is SEPA direct debit – you can find more information about this in the “Manage my details” section.
What happens if a direct debit is reversed? A reversal may result in processing fees. In this case, please contact Member Services promptly to arrange for the payment to be collected again.
Is payment by instalments possible? Payment by instalments is possible on request in cases of financial hardship. Please contact Member Services directly about this.
Would you like to change, register for or deregister from a Division or Working Group? This information concerns the scope of your membership and is covered in the “Change my membership” section.
Pay your membership fee conveniently and on time by direct debit.
Note: You can cancel a mandate you have granted with your bank within 8 weeks – granting it is risk-free for you.
Is your professional or personal situation changing? Find out here which changes to your membership are possible and how to make them.
Status change If, for example, you move from studying into employment, retire or your professional situation changes, we will adjust your membership status and subscription accordingly. Please contact Member Services for this.
Join or leave a Division or Working Group Would you like to join an additional Division or Working Group, or cancel an existing membership? Please contact Member Services, who will be happy to make the change for you.
Dual membership Information on dual memberships with the VAA or partner societies abroad can be found on the “Subscriptions” page.
Cancellation of your GDCh membership takes effect at the end of the calendar year. We must receive your written notice of resignation by 30 November at the latest.

Not every question about your membership can be answered in general terms, whether it concerns a particular personal situation, membership abroad or an enquiry that is not listed here. Our Member Services team will be happy to take the time to speak with you personally and find a suitable solution together.
