Am Institut für Biochemie und Technische Biochemie ist in der Abteilung Lebensmittelchemie zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Stelle eines/einer Wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiters/in, PhD (m/w/d, Teilzeit 50 %, TV-L 13) mit einer Vertragslaufzeit von insgesamt 3 Jahren zu besetzen. Es besteht ausdrücklich die Möglichkeit zur Promotion. Der Forschungsschwerpunkt der Abteilung liegt auf dem Gebiet der Proteincharakterisierung mittels hochauflösender Massenspektrometrie. PhD position in radiochemistry and reactive transport: Experiments on the separation of hydrogen isotopes (DFG Graduiertenkolleg 2721: "Hydrogen Isotopes") at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and the University of Leipzig. This PhD position focuses on experimental work for the separation of hydrogen isotopes, including tritium, to test novel separation materials, and to perform permeation and sorption experiments. The work will be performed in close cooperation with the research groups of the Graduiertenkolleg GRK 2721. For this position, you should have a completed university degree (Master/Diplom) in chemistry, physics, materials science or a related field. PhD-Position in Surface Science - Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy on Organic Molecules, University of Bonn – Clausius Institute for Physical and Theoretical Chemistry: We are performing research in the field of experimental surface science with a focus on the properties of nanoaggregates of large semi-conducting organic molecules on surfaces. We offer a PhD position (50% to 75 % TVL 13, depending on expertise) for 3 years. The candidate will perform scanning tunnelling microscopy experiments on well-defined surfaces. The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in physics or chemistry and have interest in surface science and molecular physics/chemistry. Ph.D. Position in Polymer Chemistry: Synthesis of Light-Emitting and Recyclable Metallopolymers; University of Bayreuth; to be filled as soon as possible: We are a synthetic chemistry group situated at the macromolecular chemistry department in Bayreuth. Our interests are centred on finding new ways to incorporate functional main group and transition metal atoms into polymers and render plastic materials more recyclable. The projects in our group range from inorganic to polymer chemistry and always go hand in hand with material testing. We also investigate how the formation of polymer chains and, conversely, their deconstruction correlates to the inorganic chemistry of the unusual atoms we incorporate. With these approaches, we aim to contribute towards a more sustainable and circular polymer economy. The advertised project concerns the synthesis of new recyclable conjugated polymers that are capable of coordinating heavy transition metals followed by testing them in applications as chiral light emitting diodes. Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (Doktorand/in, m/w/d) zum Thema „Chemischen Anbindung von Diamanten in Schleifwerkzeugen“ (EntgGr. 13 TV-L, 100 %). Am Institut für Fertigungstechnik und Werkzeugmaschinen (IFW) der Leibniz Universität Hannover ist eine Doktorand:innenstelle zum nächstmöglichen Termin zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist zunächst auf 34 Monate befristet. Eine Verlängerung bis zur Promotion ist vorgesehen. Die chemische Anbindung von Diamantschleifkörnern ist für die Herstellung von Hochleistungsschleifwerkzeugen entscheidend, da sie die Verschleißfestigkeit und die Wärmeleitfähigkeit der Schleifwerkzeuge beeinflusst. Die Kenntnis der durch die Anbindungsmechanismen erzielbaren Eigenschaften ermöglicht die Auslegung neuer Schleifwerkzeuge für die Herstellung in additiven Prozessen oder für den Einsatz in Schleifprozessen, bei denen thermische Schädigungen vermieden werden müssen (Optik- und Elektronikbauteile). Du untersuchst daher den Einfluss von beschichteten Diamantschleifkörnern auf die Schleifbelagseigenschaften sowie deren Einsatzverhalten der Schleifscheiben. DFG-funded Ph.D. position in Origin of Life research at Heidelberg University. Prof. Dr. Andres Jäschke's team investigates one of the greatest mysteries in modern science, namely the origin of the genetic code. The lab has developed methods for interrogating large combinatorial RNA libraries by combining Illumina sequencing with novel aminoacylation assays. The candidate will apply and further develop this methodology to test different hypotheses regarding the origin of the genetic code. Thus, the project will combine chemistry, biochemical experiments, and computational analysis. We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated candidates interested in the origin of life. A Master's degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, or chemistry, strong academic performance, initiative, creativity, teamwork, and solid English language skills are prerequisites. PhD position (m/f/d) – 417-03/2024 in the area of Depolymerisation of bio-based polymers. The research group of Prof. Torsten Beweries at Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT Rostock) has an opening for a position. Für das in Kürze beginnende EFRE-NRW Projekt BioDeCoat suchen wir für 3 Jahr in Vollzeit (100 %) eine/n hochmotivierte/n PostDoc (m/w/d) welche/r in diesem interdisziplinären Recyclingprojekt von beschichteten Textilien und Spritzguss-Bauteilen die Forschungsarbeiten leitet. Beim Recycling wird auf chemische und mechanische Ansätze zurückgegriffen, um Beschichtungen/Lackierung von Textilien oder Bauteilen zu entfernen. In dem Projekt liegt der Fokus auf dem chemischen Recycling. Dabei ist die Prüfung der biologischen Abbaubarkeit der separierten Beschichtungen entscheidend. The Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC) together with the Cluster of Excellence" Balance of the Microverse" at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena is offering a postdoctoral researcher position in Modelling Stochastic Switching in Microbial Populations (m/f/d). We are looking for an individual with excellent theoretical and numerical skills and strong motivation to collaborate with microbial ecologists and engage with microbial ecology data. Environmental microbiomes provide key functions that feedback on climate and support soil and plant health. It is now becoming widely recognised that many microbes within these microbiomes can switch into and out of dormant metabolic states, and that the dormant subpopulation can strongly influence the microbiome’s ability to recover from environmental disturbances. The postdoctoral project will develop stochastic mathematical models for microbial communities that account for switching into and out of dormant states (Allen group), in order to explain empirical microbiome activity data (Shade group). The project will be hosted in the Allen group in Jena, and will involve regular visits to the Shade group in France to interact with the MicroRescue project team. Die Ausschreibung sollte im Fließtext formuliert sein und max. 1.100 Zeichen umfassen, bei mehreren Stellenangeboten in einer Anzeige 1.500 Zeichen (inkl. Leerzeichen).

Um Stellensuchenden einen raschen Überblick zu ermöglichen, sollte der Anzeigentext im ersten Satz die ausgeschriebene Stelle (Doktorand:innen- oder Postdoc-Stelle etc.) und das ausschreibende Institut bzw. die Hochschule enthalten ("Am Institut für xxx der Universität yyy ist eine Doktorand:innenstelle zu besetzen"). Möchten Sie die Ausschreibung zusätzlich in den "Nachrichten aus der Chemie" veröffentlichen, so haben Sie zwei Möglichkeiten:

1. Die individuelle Anzeige mit Grafiken, Logo etc. Hier können Sie Gestaltung und Textlänge frei wählen. Beispiele für gestaltete Anzeigen finden Sie in unserer Stellenliste Industrie und öffentlicher Dienst. Die Kosten der Anzeige richten sich nach deren Größe. mehr

2. Eine Kleinanzeige im Fließtext ohne Logo, Grafiken etc. Wie bisher haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihre Internet-Kleinanzeige zusätzlich als Kleinanzeige in den "Nachrichten" zu veröffentlichen. Für die Veröffentlichung wird eine Pauschale von EUR 150,- zzgl. MwSt (pro Ausschreibung) berechnet. Bitte teilen Sie uns dann in Ihrer Mail mit, dass Sie die zusätzliche Veröffentlichung der Kleinanzeige in den „Nachrichten“ wünschen.

Guidelines for the submission of job advertisements

Job offerings on this website will be posted for free on these websites if they reach us via E-Mail. The job list Universities and Research Institutes is published weekly, usually on Fridays.

Please send the text of your job advertisement to karriere@gdch.de and insert it right into the Mail or attach it as an .rtf-file. Please do not send PDF files! In order to avoid further inquiries from our sides please do also indicate whether the publication should be online only or additionally in the “Nachrichten”, our monthly member’s magazine.

The ad should have no more than 1.100 characters including blanks, or 1.500 characters if several positions are announced in one ad. We reserve the right to shorten longer texts without notifying the advertiser. Please do not send us a designed advertisement! However, you can of course link to the complete announcement on your website.
Deadline for the submission is Friday noon (12pm) or the last working day in the week (in case of public holidays).

To provide job seekers a quick overview, the first line of the advertisement should name the vacant position (e.g., doctoral or postdoctoral position, professorship, etc.) and the institute or university with the vacancy (e.g. "Doctoral position/professorship available at the Institute for xxx of yyy University" – please see sample texts). Please also mention the application deadline and give the address for applications at the end of the ad. Shorter adverts will thereby rank higher on the list than longer and more complex ones.

Should you additionally want to publish your announcement in “Nachrichten aus der Chemie”, you have two options:
1. The individual job advert with graphics, logos etc: Choosing this option you can decide on the layout and text length yourself. For examples for individual ads take a look at our online job market “Industry and public service”. Prices vary according to the ad’s size. more

2. A small ad in form of a continuous text without graphics, logos. etc: You can choose to publish the same announcement as from the list “Universities and Research Institutes” additionally as a small ad in the “Nachrichten”. For a small ad in print we charge EUR 150,- (+ tax). Please mention in your mail if you want an additional publication in the “Nachrichten”.
